On October 4, at TBS Group’s Regional Office 2, representatives of Thai Binh Investment Corporation (TBS Group) held a working session with the delegation from the People’s Committee of Trà Vinh Province, led by Mr. Châu Văn Hòa, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, to discuss investment promotion opportunities in the province.
Attending the working session were leaders from the Management Board of the Tra Vinh Economic Zone and representatives of the Departments of Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade, Natural Resources and Environment, and Transport, as well as leaders of the People’s Committees of Cang Long, Tieu Can, Tra Cu districts, and Duyen Hai town.
On behalf of TBS Group, the delegation was welcomed by Ms. Phan Thi Thu Thao, Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and General Director of the Footwear Division; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Party Secretary and Deputy General Director; along with representatives of affiliated units under TBS Group.
Before the official meeting, the Tra Vinh provincial delegation toured the operations of TBS Logistic Center in Tan Van and the R&D Center of TBS Group in Thuan An, which specializes in handbag and footwear manufacturing.
At the working session, Mr. Chau Van Hoa provided important updates on the province’s economic development. In 2023, Tra Vinh’s GRDP grew by 8.25% and is projected to reach 9.78% in the first nine months of 2024. The province’s total economic output in 2023 reached VND 83,375 billion, with per capita GRDP at VND 81.75 million per year.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of TBS Group, noted that the Group currently employs over 45,000 people across 10 provinces in Vietnam and in three other countries. TBS Group is collaborating with eight global fashion brands and expanding its investments across multiple localities. In Tra Vinh, TBS Group has invested in three complexes located in Thanh Sơn and Phuoc Hung (Tra Cu district) and Hiếu Tử (Tieu Can district), employing approximately 12,000 workers.
Mr. Tuan emphasized that TBS Group will continue to expand investments in Tra Vinh, including the construction of a 10,000m² warehouse in Phuoc Hung, Tra Cu, and the “My Phong Urban – Commercial Service Complex” covering 15 hectares. These projects aim to support the province in achieving its “new rural development program” before 2025.
TBS Group’s leadership also committed to conducting a field survey in Tra Vinh to further explore investment opportunities.
In her remarks, Ms. Phan Thị Thu Thao reaffirmed TBS Group’s goal of increasing its workforce in Tra Vinh to 22,000 employees by 2026, and requested the province’s support in sourcing labor to meet growing production demand as the Group’s orders continue to expand.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the People’s Committee of Tra Vinh Province and TBS Group signed a memorandum of understanding on investment research and survey cooperation.
In 2021, TBS Group officially integrated My Phong Leather Shoes Co., Ltd. into its production system, marking a milestone in its expansion strategy in the Southwest region and creating significant job opportunities for local workers. TBS Group is also collaborating with international experts to transfer technology and provide workforce training, aiming to build a skilled labor force for both the Group and the nation.

The Tra Vinh provincial delegation visited the TBS Logistics Center in Tan Van to observe its operational scale.
